First there ain't not 1, but 2 different options to search levels by difficulty, the first one is not embedded into the search feature of the play tab directly. You have to go to a player's profile to search by difficulty.
https://www.bopimo.com/ratings?username=domas&difficulty=4&sort=rating&order=desc
The second is a difficulty filter. I'm not sure of what it does because it can't be changed.

Also this was brought up on another thread, but people rate levels whatever they feel like it.
Here, https://www.bopimo.com/forums/thread/3651
The only evels with 5 stars difficulty ratings are the impossible kaizo levels.
1. ig that works for the time being

2. i have no clue how the difficulty filter works. it doesnt sort easiest to hardest, it doesnt sort by clear rate, it doesnt sort by number of ratings, it doesnt sort by quality rating, it seems completely random but clearly theres some algorithm to it since its the same sort every time. there's like patterns of all of those possible sorts but there's so many outliers it's impossible to tell

3. that is true but given enough ratings there'll be some common consensus

I honestly think the difficulty filter is just a repackaging of Most rated filter cause we got petes candy land at the top but its littearly like 1 star difficulty
it's not
highest rated works based off the general rating
difficulty filter works based off the difficulty rating
they don't go off the average amount, they add all the ratings together and that's how they sort the levels
laughability's level has tons of ratings so it's right at the top of both because its combined total of general and the combined total of difficulty are both humongous

its because people are kinda forced to play the levels for items, but they dont want to spend like an hour playing single level. i personally love it but some people dont and still have to

Maybe it is because of how expansive the moveset is and how little it is explained, some people don't even know how to dive or long jump and are trying to do these events
it's called playing the tutorial you literally have 3 options for what tutorial to play

i'll say they're very poorly pushed to people because the website is aids but they're still there

yes, the tutorials should definitely be pushed to new players more. New players wont know the controls fully because they simply dont know theres a tutorial

Sure, some of them could search up for a tutorial level, but a lot of them also dont and just play the first level they see (such as the weekly or one of the featured levels)

My current understanding of bopimo! is that the limitations of how you can create levels are why they're difficult.

I get it, some levels are inexplicably hard, but to me honestly is what makes it sorta fun. Now, I don't like level designers when they make their levels thinking it has to be a Roblox obby. Instant kill bricks are a no-go for me on bopimo! . You have coins for health, and lives for the actual challenge. It's unbalanced these days and I wish people would put more effort into that. Basically, the ratio from challenge:annoyance is more on the annoyance side. Checkpoints are useful though, don't get me wrong, but I'd rather take the loss from losing completely than just re-doing the same sections within a level over and over again. That's what I think platformers are, and always should be.

This is all opinion based, not factual. It's just how I look at platformers.

hello , i am new here , im bad at the game.

due to the fact that id like to collect presents , i play those levels.

however , this winds up being a problem as im not good at the game and therefore , i struggle on levels above my skill ceiling.

now personally , i dont hate hard levels , but they frustrate me a bit more than easier levels.
