Why it's hard to get into Bopimo

Bopimo has it flaws, yes, but the main reason its so difficult to get into Bopimo is because of a lack of beginner-intermediate levels, you got your standard star searching, then simple jumps, but after that there is almost no levels that you can play that are your skill level, all the levels are either too hard, or too easy, so you have to throw yourself into the deep end into those hard levels, and that is why people can't fully get into Bopimo. There are not enough levels that are beginner-intermediate skill level, because Bopimo was mainly a secluded game, and rarely new people came, the people who played Bopimo got better and better, and thus wanted harder and harder levels, so people made those harder levels, instead of making easy levels, thus being almost zero easy levels. People do not like throwing themselves in the deep end, it is difficult to take that risk, and why take that risk for a random game? I've thought of two solutions that can equally make this problem a little less annoying. A difficulty system, and official challenge levels that progressively get harder and teach people more advanced things. A difficulty system is simple, you can search for levels that are YOUR skill level, that you can do. And official challenge levels that teach the player more and more, helps people actually learn and doesn't throw them too much into the deep. I think this is one of Bopimo's major flaws, that isn't even its fault, but it has made getting into the game so difficult for me and others, love this game but I think something gotta be done about this.

I think there is a difficulty rating already but no way to search through levels of specific difficulties, slightly annoying!
I suppose for now what people can do is go through the old weekly and default challenges as those might be easier

i meant that, but also the difficulty rating is highly subjective rn, i think it needs to be like more than 5 stars or something

i have a lot of levels that are for middle of the road players that you can play, some are of course easier than others. some i'd recommend are big big mountain, midnight crusade, and internal server error

Spot on! You said Autumn Run was easy although most folks in the comments (including me) disagree because the game is a little weird with how it plays and the level has some really tight jumps and some rng at the end. I still do not understand why the roll is automatic and you gotta hold down a key to stop it, it should be the other way around.
I have good visual reflexes/reaction time, but poor motor reflexes, so a level like Autumn Run wouldn't be so hard with Super Mario Odyssey's control scheme. Anyhow as a result, these hard levels get favorable ratings like 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 because some people can play just fine with those weird controls. There's also the problem that those "precision platformers" kaizo levels are way harder than Autumn Run, Cadium Colors, Jayka's WJL and Everorange Behemoth Tree, so folks will compare them to other levels they've played and give these ones the maximum rating, but for me except fr Everorange which I've yet to beat I gave all of them a minimum difficulty rating of 4 because they either require a tech or rely too much on mastering the weird control scheme to beat quickly. Maybe my motor reflexes will improve as I play, but these aren't easy levels by any stretch of the imagination and it's crazy to me how all of them have only 3 stars.

Answering the thread's topic at hand: As far as anyone is concerned about beginner-intermediate levels, I'd say whatever I rate in-between 2 stars and 4 stars fit in there. I will never beat those ultra hard kaizo levels in my life, so if I give a level 5 stars in difficulty it's probably an expert level and not an intermediate level in terms of difficulty.
I also give "easter eggs hunt" type levels a higher rating if the stars are hard to find, but so far I've not given any of them a rating higher than 2.5 so the way I rate really mostly covers the platforming aspect of those levels and nothing else.
