he's been planning to for a while. the current ones are weird, inconsistent and asymmetrical. he's also gonna make it so both shoes have separate UVs, meaning they can look different from each other

oh my god this is so dumb this only barely gets the first face right bruh
if the NPC blinks(it will btw, blinking is automatic), gets hit, bumps into a wall, or dies, the face will change to something completely unnatural. all emotions are the same size, you can't just choose whatever size you want and expect it to work
and why are you making the face at the resolution of the clothing template? why not just edit a normal face texture and then scale that down afterwards? thats what i did and it works perfectly fine https://www.bopimo.com/items/5044 (had to disguise it as sneakers because isaiah is AWESOME!!!!), this is literally just overcomplicating things. terrible tutorial
if anyone wants to make an actually good custom face, you can use Face (White) as a template (https://cdn.bopimo.com/assets/945440e4-ab28-4d54-a7bd-52f0a9a5b30d.png), as it's the closest you can get to the default face texture without decompiling the game and opening the texture in godot afaik
the emotions are as follows from top to bottom:
Normal
Blink
Hurt
Bump
I think this one is unused
Dead
And 2 blank spaces you shouldn't care about because they're also unused
each emotion is 512x512 on the face texture, though if you make the emotion too big one of the colors on it will wrap around the entire head, so i would try to keep your emotions the same size they are on the official faces
i don't remember which interopolation method i used to scale down "orange sneakers", but i think it had to be either Nearest Neighbor or Bilinear

please, i beg of you all to actually think for once instead of just spitting crap out, this is legitimately the most stupid type of question you could ask anyone in any situation

also should probably wait until clothing templates are changed before making a custom face because of what firecat and velvet said. if we're lucky we might also be able to make higher res faces if the new shoe template has it's size increased vertically(that is if it even gets changed of course)
