actually, i just thought of some concerns about the hypothetical "clothing update" so i should probably share them
making the templates more consistent is undeniably a positive thing and i cant wait for it, but i do feel converting all the old clothing could cause problems depending on how they're converted, like they could possibly end up looking more blurry or pixelated depending on how some of the sides are rescaled to fit the new template
and of course this does break older custom faces, which while i get theres not really any obligation to make sure it doesn't because custom faces aren't officially supported, it would still kinda suck if they all broke one day. Especially since one of the official faces(amalgam), was originally a custom face used in a domas loaf adventure level, a series which also has official items related to it
I think a better way of doing this update would be leaving the older clothing unchanged and instead giving the client some way to differentiate between new clothing and old clothing, like maybe you could make the new templates just a slightly different size like 512x513 or just send some additional data to the client explicitly saying that a piece of clothing uses the new template, idk how game development works so im not sure how this could be executed but im sure it would be possible somehow
