I remember this site being very active less than a year ago. Now there isn't anyone on it at all. (There are only 3 people online at the time of writing this). So what's going on what happened?

Isaiah ( the only dev left ) has made the choice to let the game bleed out and die instead of hiring anyone to help on the game. I'm not saying its free to hire people or anything but there are a lot of people on places like discord who are willing to do things for free and work on it just out of passion.

another reason I would say is lack of youtubers. there was only one good bopimo youtuber and he quit. youtubers really make or break community's. there are some bopimo youtubers but none of them are really "youtubers" I hope you know what I mean by this.

There hasn’t been an update since before you joined, as far as I’m aware of events are still ongoing and planned, Isaiah is attempting to work on the game and Yuru quit doing bopimo videos since before you joined.
