I must say, I'm quite disappointed at the bopimo community. Mildly displeased, even.

In a previous forum post, I had mentioned my discontempt towards the naming of stars in the common level with the purpose of hopefully causing a shift in the community - a shift towards properly naming Completion Stars, as their names are displayed at the end of a level when hovering over their icons.

Unfortunately, I mustn't have emphasized my point strongly enough, as to this day, I continue see new levels neglecting to rename their stars.

I'm not asking for much - only a fitting name consisting of a reminder of how it was obtained, a joke, or anything that's the slightest bit entertaining. The 'show nametag' setting doesn't even need to be turned on! Only the name matters.

My soul dims a little every time my cursor reveals nothing but a lack of attention to detail in that tooltip. A missed opportunity for one final quip before sending off the level; it's an underwhelming last impression to give.

Please, dear bopis, I urge you to bother with naming your stars. Please know that I check every single one! Brighten my day and the one of those who will follow in my footsteps. It'll only take you a few moments, but it will be worth it.

I'm not mad, just disappointed.

I haven't checked every event level but I'm pretty sure they do this a fair bit. At least the events made by the pre-release testers.

Starfall Area also gives creative names to its stars (for instance there's a green star named Luigi that happens to be located inside a mansion.)

actually on that point i wonder why there's a (in no simpler terms) culture of naming stars properly amongst the pre-release testers. it makes me wonder if star names were planned to have a bigger purpose in beta but the idea got scrapped.

I think it depends on how the level works if it needs a name. if its a "find the stars" level it means that the nametag kinda ruins the hiding spot

Tbh it's quite dumb how you can only see star names after you've beaten a level, it works as a funny easter egg but it also really destroys any kind of utility they could provide to the player which I imagine is also why no one bothers to name them

It should be so when you hover over the star count on the bottom left of the screen it shows you a list of stars with their names and colors, along with a marker for the ones you've already collected
