The Bopimo Archive Project (BAP)

I like archiving stuff. I’ve archived lots of websites that shut down over the years. However, there’s a website that I think would be great if archives, which is Bopimo. I’m bored, so just like with the demonlist, I’m starting my newest project, the BAP!

Backstory, I’m in Russia. I played Bopimo in the US. Long story short, I forgot to bring my laptop and now I can’t play Bopimo. A thing I’ve wanted to do is fully archive Bopimo because it’s been dead. So, I’m starting this project, with this being the first post archived. Also, this is good because I can do this from my phone.

I want to archive things like accounts, clothes, main pages, forum threads, events, levels, obscure pages, the blog, items, etc. A lot of pages have been archived, so it’s a good start.

I want this to be a global project, so if you want to help, go to web.archive.org and start saving every page you know! Bonus points if you text “Archived” on every page you can comment on. Archiving can be good sometimes, cuz you never know what’s gonna happen till it does.

MAIN ACCOUNT: https://www.bopimo.com/users/Archive

(I will be using my alt account ‘hehe’ to put “Archived” in pages where a commentbox is available)

Archived :)
Just wanna mention that there's also a dedicated Bopimo archival space called:

https://archive.bopomi.com/

You'll have to get in contact with the Bopomi Admins (JS1, Dunsa, or json,) but if you can find a way to contact them, this also seems like a pretty good way to archive Bopimo related media (Including level files, screenshots, pages, client versions, and other related things.)

They've already got some stuff archived, so go check it out!!! (and maybe contribute.)

made by dunsa and json so immediately trash

anyways thats for the Bopimo client and api itself, which is cool and all since a revival can be made with this, but the BAP is mainly focused on the website and archiving every page and account. Still cool though

Youre archiving unauthenticated pages, these are already archived actively by crawlers, there is no point for this imo

I meant what I meant, this is an okay archive but it doesnt really save much from users. Ig it does save pages but not in a good way imo, idk if its just me but the pages r just messed up. Also the archive doesnt even save a lot other than Bopimo pages itself, and doesnt even save forum threads and saves like maximum 5 users

this is like saying “Someone already takes pictures of the Bopimo site and pages themselves, so there is no point in making archives of them”

Messed up pages are because you dont know how the site works, the css is gone because i saved the pages without modifying anything, archive.org modifies the page to make sure it works even with site updates

I dont save users and posts because that would literally take days of manual labor, unless i automated it

Literally what

Anyways,
I feel like i could automate all of this in under a hour and get all of the pages saved within a week
