if its in a netted cage, occasionally when you are over stick your fingers in the net to open up the holes so it can escape. if the owner goes to the bathroom or something quickly pick up the lizard's cage(if too heavy, grab the lizard itself) and run away.

Do not grab the lizard with your bare hands because it might bite. Instead, use the owner's hands
