hello everyone! i'm going to be hosting my first level contest!!

the theme is: candyland!

☆ Prizes

1st - 100 coins

2nd - 75 coins

3rd - 50 coins

☆ Rules

- must be candy/candyland themed

- must put [CLC] in the title, it stands for Candyland Contest

☆ What you will be rated on:

- design/creativity: how aesthetically pleasing it is, and if it is candy-themed

- gameplay: how creative the obstacles are, a good example would be choclate bar wall jumps, a bad example would be just random colored blocks you jump on

- performance: if you put a lot of stuff in the level thats okay, but if you spam NPC's or something like that then your rating will go down because it will be unnecessarily laggy

☆ Make sure you have a shirt I can buy if you win! I reccommend making it in advance because moderation takes like a day

juli, please for the love of god do not be like scarb. DON'T allow submissions of recycled levels.

not only do they just spit in the face of the concept of contests as a whole, but it's really just straight a-hole behavior because it's a clear showing that the person submitting only cares about the money. It also puts actual contestants who take the contest seriously at a disadvantage because there's a chance someone who put no effort or passion into making a new original level and just slapped a label on an old one could get a higher rating than someone who actually made something new simply because their ancient level that had no deadline or restrictions at all ended up being better than something new which was prone to a deadline and restrictions. It just sucks and it has a huge amount of potential to suck the fun out a contest completely, which I hate that no one on this game acknowledges.

Even if you did not specify that recycled levels aren't allowed, you are still fully within your right to disqualify recycled level submissions because it's just basic common sense that you don't do stuff like this. You wouldn't donate food from 50 years ago to a food bank, you wouldn't go to a live backflipping contest and show the judges a pre-recorded video from 5 years ago. It's just not following basic etiquette or common sense in the slightest

I get scarb's contests are really the only offenders of this, but I just really do not want this stuff to become commonplace. Even if I don't end up participating in this one I still feel like this needs to be said, like the fact that 4 of the submissions in scarb's troll contest are just recycled levels is a ridiculous joke alone and the longer I think about it the more it annoys me, this really should not become something that's popularized for contests.

yeah, I do agree with that. it is unfair for the people who actually wanna make a level, cuz the recycled levels had like infinite time :(

so guys, please make a new level so its fair for everyone! i've played Petes Candy World and it's amazing, but it didn't have a time limit or restrictions, you know? even if it met the criteria for this contest, JS1 had a long time to make and revise it, so I just don't think its fair for everyone else. no hate to JS1, thats an amazing level, but i think it would be best if we stuck with making a new level, solely for this contest.
