i looked up "kaizo jump" on duckduckgo and that's how I learned about robot 64. The bigget giveaway imo is that originally the bopi was supposed to be a robot dude, but that got changed during development, the bopi however looks like the player character from robot 64.

It's kind of like the palworld situation where the inspiration is very obvious, but they do something new with it.
