Raine sat impatiently, their leg bouncing. It was loud. Too loud.* Onyx was talking to blaze, as he tried to back away. *Why couldn’t Onyx see she's talking too much?* Melody and Finn were staring at everyone, with looks of disapproval. Or zoned out. Raine couldn’t tell. Kiyo was staring at Blaze, and Kai was nowhere to be seen. Of course. *If these idiots just were quiet for five minutes, I'd be so grateful.* Raine thought, looking up from their notebook, as Onyx chirped happily about ‘New years second chance’. *Tch. If there was a way to go back to normal, trust me I would have found out by now.* Raine looked over their shoulder, at the door. *Maybe outside is quieter. Maybe…* They stood up and walked quietly to the door, and opened it. Cold, outside air rushes in, immediately sending a comforting chill down Raine’s spine. The grass was soft and a lush green, a few evergreen trees grew nearby, and the sun was high in the sky. *Noon.* They thought, shielding their eyes from the sun. They walk ten paces forward, settle under one of the evergreen trees, and open the notebook. They look around, and their eyes settle on a bird. They begin to draw the bird, putting care into each graphite feather. By the time they were done, the bird was long gone, and the sun started to set. *Back inside. They thought, standing up, and making their way inside, back to the chaos of the real, annoyingly so, real world.
