Holding space to stop rolling and holding left click to move the camera make no sense when Super Mario Odyssey already had all of these things figured out.
I hope they eventually change how the game plays, because holding down a key is not necessarily good for my hands even if I don't play the hardest levels.
In the meantime, I'd say you shouldn't try to beat hardcore levels, especially not with a keyboard of all things. I dunno if using a controller would help much, but I reckon it'd be at least slightly better than using the keyboard.

^^ *right click
I don't have it either, but I don't overexerts my hands when playing. Personally I just think this control scheme is annoying, but I can see why it's not accessible to folks with carpal tunnel or make those who don't have it develop it gradually by playing the absurdly hard levels.

i am unsure if i hate this control scheme as i dont think its bad, at most i think groundpounds and death should be lowered in time (Though groundpounds are kind of a crutch typa thing) Though i will say you can rebind all the keybinds to your liking and i think controllers work in this game???? its kind of weird ive heard bad things about controllers in this game

Ive used my keyboard in a really weird way so its probably why i dont have carpal tunnel and also why i like this control scheme alot ( I use a trackpad at the bottom of my keyboard and use both of my hands for the keyboard while playing because of this)

Controlling the camera completely freely with right click is actually perfect because it gives people who don't have a controller a precision of movement similar to an analog stick without actually using one. I haven't played odyssey myself but if it's any similar to mario 64's camera then this is automatically a terrible idea. Play the emulated, vanilla version of mario 64(no decomp, pc port, or romhacks/cheats allowed) using only a keyboard for input and you'll see what I mean
Also, if you have this opinion just cause you're on a laptop and therefore using a trackpad, then please for the love of god just buy a cheap usb mouse and you will think of the current camera a trillion times better, nearly every 3D game ever created is not designed to be played with a trackpad(yes, including roblox) and I don't even think you could design a 3D game to work well with a trackpad

The point is not that I control the camera with the mouse, it's that I have to specifically hold down a key while moving the mouse to do so. It's not how it's supposed to work. Heck in first person mode, it works perfectly without this quirk.

No you don't? I can move the camera without holding down a key and it works perfectly fine
This sounds like you're on a laptop and you're using the trackpad built into it(the flat thing below the keyboard that moves the cursor, you're incorrectly calling it a mouse), I'm speaking from experience here as something that sounds like this happened all the time on my old laptop whilst playing roblox when I was a kid.
But once again, no 3D game is designed with trackpads in mind, you really do need a mouse or you're just playing the game wrong, I'm sorry

people dont got money for mouses in this economy, i think just having like some short of shiftlock like how roblox does it gives the best of both worlds
