One of the earliest builds for Bopimo! featured an NPC called "robodude." The NPC had a completely different design from the modern Bopi we know of today.

On of the bopimo betas (i think beta3 rewrite something?) contains files such as
(s word).tres
and hints of an egg hunt in the files.
Also, as of now, when playing in the client, going to bopi spawner section will show Leon's avatar. I only ever experienced this when playing in the online one.
Also, one more factoid is that the Spring is the only GLB file in the Beta3 Client.

the godot file in the client used to contain a piece of code that was an uppercased f word

bopis go to prison when banned

also canonically, bopis use completion stars to reproduce, as stated by a dev in a yt comments section
