I want to make sure my levels are playable for those country farmers playing on a freshly harvested potato pc in Antarctica.
Please hand in tips to reduce lag!

Keep your levels gameplay wise not theming wise. If you have a theme in mind, play around with colour palettes.

Here's a tip:
If you're talking about lag, try to limit your block count by using less blocks. If there's a lot of trees in your level, maybe try to use one big item mesh of an image of a bunch of trees. (if your level is forest themed)

Here's some random things I figured on my own (in case other creators find this info useful)
Yes lag: alot of big lava blocks
No lag: really big/small pattern scales on lava
No lag: alot of big cubes
Yes lag: looking at alot of big meshes
GIGA lag: Bopis touching sensitive spots in block shapes' collision. Specific example: Landing in the hole between the two bumps of a big heart shaped block causes IMMENSE lag for some reason until you get off!
