My Thoughts on Ratings

I've mentioned this in the discord but I felt like it was appropriate to also mirror it here.

I think ratings are a very welcoming addition. It's very nice that we can not only rate a level for its overall quality and fun factor, but also submit a difficulty rating to gauge level difficulty. I like it.

That being said, I do have my own little nitpicks with it:

- Having a star system applies well to general ratings, but I personally don't think stars apply well to difficulty ratings. Seeing two star ratings on a level page at first glance momentarily confuses me until I see the text. Usually games will use different iconography to display difficulty (e.g think of Geometry Dash and their emotions system from super happy meaning very easy, to demons for the hardest). I think if difficulty were to use different iconography, it would differentiate it from general ratings.

- Instead of rating difficulty from 0.5-5, I think it should be 1-10. Not only would this remove weird decimal situations (averages would ideally help with decimal nuances), but pushing the ceiling to 10 would give more nuance and better communicate how difficult a level can be.

Just my two cents.

Also:

- Creators/builders should not be able to rate their own levels. This introduces bias, which can skew a rating to not be representative of what the community thinks.
