If it was paid for coins, technically they are making money from it, as you can pay for coins (IF they finally allow payments again). I think the only way to avoid such is to make it free, or an event level

gold items being filtered correctly when sorted by price (why does it do that)

a shop filter to remove off-sale items (why do we have one to only show off-sale items and not this)
