bopimo will never be anything but a 3d platformer at its core, but triggers (cool blocks that do stuff which will be added in a future update) will allow for the creation of more complex levels (cool mechanisms, changing music mid-level, buttons that cause blocks to move when touched, etc.). you could likely make tycoons and such with them if you try hard enough
you can already sorta make other genres in bopimo, like racing levels using the rolling feature (even if it's kinda bad and it's hard to make stuff work well). if you get even more creative with rudimentary build tech (disappearing blocks, breakable blocks, missile launchers, npcs) then you can make even cooler things
i would like to emphasise that triggers will not be as powerful as actual coding, nor should they be. actual coding is never coming to bopimo
lastly, data saving will not be added. the closest thing that has been floated around has been letting you continue a level from a checkpoint with your previous stats (tokens, HP, stars etc.) but i'm not sure that'll be added in the future
Will Bopimo Have other Game Genres?

Did they outright say data saving wont be added?

Yes, there is no purpose in adding a data store system, because Bopimo isn't a platform for creating games.
Bopimo targets the specific niche of being a 3D platformer, and that's all it should and will be.

Well, I’d still like it. As the game gets bigger, there will end up being longer levels, and I’d still like to be able to join and leave a level, especially for disconnects
